The Coiba Islands are only 37 kilometers (23 miles) from our shores, making Santa Catalina the gateway to the National Park.
Visitors can snorkel and hike the islands. You might see reef sharks, sea turtles, eels, seahorses, puffer fish, and many other colorful tropical fish. Whale sharks are commonly seen from December through March. Humpback whales are seen on the migratory route from August to November.
